Snapchat users can now appreciate their friends by narrating stories about them, share virtual hugs and more fun activities.
Snapchat has introduced a set of new filters and lenses to celebrate Friendship Day 2021 with their beloved friends. The exciting new lens will allow users to share fun moments, expressions and virtual hugs with their friends on the platform. The lens is specially designed for friends to express feelings with ease and create memories and moments together. Snapchatters can share hugs and appreciate their friends by narrating a brief story about them and playing fun games and answering questions, or sharing their friends’ best qualities with these lenses.
Just to flash your memory, Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August, which is August 1st this year.
While due to the Covid situation, Snap chatters check in on one another, keep friends up to date, and have strong connections. According to the Snapchats second edition of the Friendship Report, Covid-19 has boosted the importance of digital connections. Nearly 90 per cent of users have said that Snapchat has helped friends maintain their relationship, regardless of distance. About 76 per cent of users had a deeper conversation.
Users can choose to scan the ‘Snap’ code with their Snapchat camera app to access these lenses. These lenses can be unlocked for a minimum period, ranging from anywhere between 24 to 48 hours. The lenses allow different kinds of games that can be played using the camera.
Here are the steps on how to access these new lenses:
- Open the Snapchat application and switch to the rear camera.
- Please tap on the screen and point it to one of the codes. The camera should do a scan.
- Interact with the Lense and try it.
Recently, Snapchat introduced a new feature that allows users to view a three-dimensional version of themselves on the profile. The application has been updated with 1,200 combinations of body poses, facial expressions, gestures and backgrounds. Users can also match their 3D Bitmoji with their mood. This feature will add more enhanced details to their customised avatar.
Also, with Tokyo Olympic Games around the corner, Snapchat has introduced the Olympic-theme Cameos in the chat and sticker drawer, which will Snapchat users show their support to the country and show more love towards their favourite Olympic sports. The feature was added based on Snapchat claims that users on the platform love sports and over 85 million users are watching sport-based content on a monthly basis.
